Citroen C4 Picasso is Continental ICOTY 2014



The Continental Irish Car of the Year 2014 is the Citroen C4 Picasso. The announcement was made at the annual Awards lunch yesterday, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin. The Awards are voted on by the Irish Motoring Writers Association, representing professional motoring journalists in the national and regional newspapers, and radio stations in Ireland.

The Citroen won with 377 points from the Volkswagen Golf (364) and the Mazda6 (327). It's the third time that Citroen has won the ICOTY title, following the Citroen Xsara in 1998 and the C5 in 2009.

The Continental Irish Van of the Year 2014 was awarded to the Mercedes Benz Sprinter by the Van Jury of the IMWA.

In the Category Awards, the Continental Irish Small Car of the Year 2014 is the Peugeot 2008. The Continental Irish Compact Family Car of the Year 2014 is the Citroen C4 Picasso. The Continental Irish Family Car of the Year 2014 is the Mazda6. The Continental Irish Executive Luxury Car of the Year 2014 is the Range Rover, and the Continental Irish Performance Car of the Year 2014 is the Volkswagen Golf GTI.

The Awards were presented by Tom Dennigan of Continental Tyres Ireland.
